DAPHNE AND APOLLO... Eternal love, lost forever. Eros, also known as Cupid, was taunted by Apollo and decided to teach Apollo a lesson shooting two arrows, one tipped in Gold evoking love, the other tipped in Lead repelling love. While the Gold arrow struck Apollo the lead arrow struck the beautiful nymph Daphne. Apollo instantly fell deeply in love with Daphne who found love unappealing. With Apollo chasing Daphne through the woods doing all he could to gain her love, Daphne ran, begging her father, a river God, to save her from this fate. Sadly, just as Apollo lands upon Daphne at the rivers edge, her father relents using his only skills to save her, turning Daphne into a Laurel tree. Heartbroken, Apollo swore she shall remain forever green and to wear a Laurel wreath in honor of his love. Daphne, now a laurel tree at the edge of her father's river banks, welcomes Apollo with Grace.
