DAPHNE....Daughter of a River God, was a beautiful young Goddess who unwittingly captured the heart and eyes of the Olympian God, Apollo who chased her to the edge of her father's realms along the river banks. Just as Apollo was about to come upon her, Daphne begged her father to save her and being limited with his abilities to do so turned her into a Laurel tree who's roots were grounded next to the river. Heart broken Apollo, swore to always wear a wreath of laurels to keep his love close always. Such is the beginning of unrequited love.
